All our upright slate headstones that we make here at Rustic Stone use the finest Welsh slate which we obtain from various quarries in the north of Wales, we always ensure that our pickers pick the very best rocks to ensure that your memorial is not only free from visible cracks but ensure it has a lovely natural shape too it.

Thickness

Our quarry pickers in North Wales always check for decent thickness as well as undesirable’s such as cracks and chips, the thickness of our headstones does vary from rock to rock but we ensure that our stones are a minimal thickness of 50mm and can be up to 80mm. In the event that you require a certain thickness please contact us and we will do the best we can to cater for your requirements.

Stone Customisation

Purchasing a stone headstone memorial could not be any easier; we have designed a unique tool which allows our customs to fully customize their stone. We have dozens of preloaded fonts online from some which are extremely profession and elegant to those which are just out of this world funky. Once you have chosen the font you would like to see engraved onto your welsh slate headstone then for further customization why not add an image. Our tool has many images to choose from and should you want something even more unique you can even upload your very own images for us to engrave for you.

While we have made this easy to use tool some customers have had problems, should you be having problems or just rather speak to us over the phone and tell us exactly what you’re after, we will take your ideas and make a mockup of your headstone.

Securing Your Product

Our upright stones are designed to stand on their own on any flat surface, since our stones are heavy they become even more secure as time passes due to natural sinking due to pressure on the ground. Even though our stones are unlikely to blow over under UK weather conditions and the likelihood of theft is slim our stones can be secured within stainless steel pins in the base, some church graveyards and public cemeteries will insist that you secure the memorial in place.

Permissions

Our products are very unique and generally not a common memorial you will find in most gardens and churches remembrance areas, you might not be aware that most private gardens, remembrance areas and churches have rules and regulations so you will need to check for permission before placing an order from us. Nowadays must churches will have a website online with this kind of information.
