These memorials are all made from hand picked and often hand cleaved slate that we source from quarries in north Wales. They have a flat machined base so that they can stand on their own. Our upright memorials are a minimum of 50mm thick and often up to 70mm or 80mm.
Securing Upright Memorials
Natural slate memorials can either freestand on flat ground, or alternatively, they can be securely mounted with stainless steel pins in the base. We recommend that larger upright memorials have fixings to prevent to prevent toppling. They are not as heavy as most gravestones that you will see but all churches and public cemeteries will insist that they are securely fixed in place. It’s best to enquire if special permission is required before ordering, with the correct authority. Fixing also prevents theft and vandals. Smaller memorials that are for use in a private garden do not need fixing in position but if there is a requirement, please let us know.

Artwork / Images
It is tricky to use multi coloured images on natural stone due to the way that the paint is applied. Therefore we can only use simple images. Silhouettes or outline images work best. We have a lot of stock images that you can choose from, however, if you want something different you can supply your own artwork or individual images. We will do our best to use them – even if it means getting them redrawn.
