Rustic Stone Memorials serve as an informal, unique memory preservation of your loved one. Our engraved memorials are as individual as the deceased. Our memorial stones, like people, no two can be exactly alike.
Our unique memorials are perfect for the garden or memorial area to mark a grave or where ashes were scattered, a spot in the garden that the person loved to spend time in or even where a memorial tree was planted. They are less conspicuous than a large formal memorial stone and posses natural beauty.
Memorial Plaques and Freestanding Memorial Stones
Our slate memorials can either be flat for wall mounting or laying flat on a bed of gravel or on top of a grave, or are thick based to free stand. For a more permanent fixture, or with the larger sized freestanding stones we offer a service where we drill stainless steel studs into the base of the stone so that they can be mounted into the ground with concrete / cement or even mounted onto a plinth (we can supply slate plinths also at an extra cost).
How we choose Memorial Stones and Plaques
All our stones are meticulously hand picked from a quarry in North Wales. The Paddlestone memorials are from various countrywide suppliers as are the sand and limestone plaques. We check for cracks and sound surfaces before shipping back our workshop in Suffolk.
Maintaining Rustic Memorial Plaques and Stones
They will not rot or tarnish as wooden memorials or metal can. A stone memorial requires only minimal maintenance. You may need to raise your flat memorial stone slightly off the earth to protect it from frost damage in exposed areas. We recommend a layer of gravel underneath to give your memorial some protection.
In Memory of Loved Ones
Our memorial marker stones and plaques are fully personalised to your specification so that you can preserve the memory of your loved one. We have access to thousands of fonts and art images – you are welcome to send your own artwork and we will use it if possible. You could even add a short memorial poem on some stone or even a sample of the person / child’s handwriting or drawings. All lettering can be painted with your choice of colour or just left as a natural etched / engraved finish.
